Wetterbuchen-Touren mit Weitblick

We walk to one of the oldest and most impressive stands of willow beech on the Schauinsland with a magnificent panorama of the Rhine valley and the Vosges in Alsace. In the middle of the cow pastures and towards the Schauinsland summit they stand, these large, old, gnarled and bizarre trees, bent to the east, their branches wildly dishevelled by countless storms and weathers. The weather beech trees are the landmarks typical of the landscape on the Schauinsland, character trees and witnesses of times long past. During our hike and excursion, we will learn a lot about the history of their development, use, nature conservation and one or two stories of shepherd children. Let us take you back to a bygone era.

"I look forward to showing you my homeland".
Yours, Ursel Lorenz
