At the top station of the Schauinsland cable car, cable car passengers have access to a spacious, barrier-free panoramic terrace with seating and a play area for children with three tree houses. The path along the building to the forecourt of the mountain station has also been made barrier-free and is well suited for strollers.
The panorama terrace as well as the tree house facility for children is a highlight on our local mountain. The panorama terrace has an area of about 70 square meters and offers plenty of space to linger, take pictures or simply enjoy the free, wide view all the way to the Vosges mountains - and to do so in a very relaxed way on the terraced benches from which you can watch the children playing.
The tree house complex consists of two tree houses and a platform, which are accessible via a stair tower and connecting tunnel. The tree houses were equipped with various exciting play elements on the theme of "looking" and "gazing". The exit is via a tube slide. The houses are made of solid larch and were clamped around 4 existing trees each using tree-friendly clamping devices without nails or screws, so that they are neither damaged nor hindered in their growth. In case of snow, temperatures below 0 °C, wind speeds of more than 40 km/h and when the ropeway is not in operation, the tree house remains closed for safety reasons. The current playground regulations of the state of Baden-Württemberg apply.
