Follow in the footsteps of the cable car builders and experience their pioneering work up close. On the approximately nine-kilometer-long hike, it's mainly downhill. You start at the mountain station and hike back to the valley station. On the way, you will cross the route of the cable car several times, giving you numerous opportunities to admire the supports of the Schauinslandbahn, some of which are still in their original condition. This gives you an impression of how much technical innovation and effort went into the cable car. This tour is especially pleasant in high summer, because the path repeatedly leads under the shady canopy of tall trees.
